How to Measure Your Little One

To get a good fit, it is a good idea to measure your baby before ordering. As long as you are using a fitted diaper or a pinned prefold, there is no need for the cover to be tight. As long as your baby’s measurements are close to those given, the cover should work just fine.

First put your baby in the kind of diaper you will be using the cover with. Measure around the waist, which is usually just above the diaper. You may want the cover to be slightly higher than the diaper to prevent leaks around the waistband.

The rise is measured from the top of the diaper in the back, through the legs, to the top of the diaper in the front.

For a cover, measure around the largest part of the thigh. Measure the inseam (for longies) from the crotch to where ever you want the pants to fall, usually the ankle.
